Effective October 1st, we are adding a stop to the NorthWest Route! The new stop will be located at Tanasbourne Town Center in Hillsboro at NE Town Center Drive just south of NE Evergreen Parkway. View the new schedule. Tickets on sale now!

We will be sharing this stop with our friends at Tillamook County Transportation District, who provide twice-daily service between Tillamook and Portland. Learn more about TCTD Route 5.

Passengers are encouraged to get to our new stop by TriMet, walking, biking or rolling, or carpooling. Overnight parking is not permitted.

Passengers can also easily access food, shopping, and services just a short distance from our stop, including McDonald’s, Barnes & Noble, and Concentra Urgent Care. See the below map for the many options available nearby.

Effective August 16, 2021, we will be making a few minor improvements to the NorthWest Route schedule to help ensure passengers arrive at their destinations on time. The two eastbound buses (#5563 and #5565) will both depart Astoria a few minutes earlier. There will be no changes to the westbound buses (#5500 and #5564). Download or print the new schedule.

Effective June 14, 2021, we will be making significant improvements to the SouthWest Route schedule! We are expanding daily service from Klamath Falls all the way to Grants Pass to provide easier, more comfortable travel through the region.

Westbound passengers departing from Grants Pass will board the POINT in front of Newman United Methodist Church on NE B Street. Passengers can use the bus shelter in front of Anne Basker Auditorium while waiting for the POINT. Passengers may continue to ride Josephine Community Transit’s Route 50 for free between Cave Junction and Grants Pass on Monday through Friday. Transfers to and from Josephine Community Transit will continue to take place at the Anne Basker Auditorium bus stop, just across the street from our new pick up and drop off location.

This schedule change will also allow for more restroom breaks and improve daily connections to southbound Amtrak Coast Starlight train service from Klamath Falls at 10:00 pm and northbound Greyhound #1446 bus service from Medford at 12:20 pm.

Effective June 1, 2021, the NorthWest Route schedule will have earlier departure times due to recently announced highway construction occurring at night on U.S. 26. The new schedule will remain in effect until October 1, 2021 because of multiple construction projects occurring throughout the summer on U.S. 26. The changes will ensure passengers don’t experience delays while riding the POINT and that all our critical connections with other services at Union Station can be maintained. Effective May 24, 2021, we’re resuming two daily Cascades Route buses in coordination with upcoming changes to Amtrak Cascades train service! These runs have been suspended since April 2020 due to low demand as a result of the pandemic. Additional schedule changes will be made to the 5504 northbound bus on the same day.

These changes will result in new and better connections with the NorthWest Route and train service in Portland, as well as new connections with Pacific Crest Bus Lines service in Eugene, all of which can booked together for seamless travel on a single ticket purchased from Amtrak.  All social distancing and mask requirements remain in effect. Effective February 22, we’re moving our Vale bus stop 5 blocks east to the Malheur County Courthouse at 251 B Street West.

We will be sharing the new stop with The People Mover of Grant County and SRT-Malheur Express operated by Malheur Council On Aging & Community Services. This will give passengers a faster and safer way to connect with those services. Visit the schedules page.

On February 15 we will be making schedule changes to the Portland-Eugene route that will create a new connection to Greyhound in Portland and improve our current connection with Pacific Crest Bus Lines in Eugene. For the first time, POINT passengers will be able to connect to eastbound Greyhound service in Portland and ride to Hood River, Pendleton, Ontario, or as far as Salt Lake City! In Eugene, we’re improving our connection to Pacific Crest Bus Lines for daily travel to Florence! View the new schedule.

On October 1, Pacific Crest Bus Lines will become our new operator for the SouthWest Route. We would like to thank The Shuttle of Klamath Falls for 12 years of service!

We will also be introducing other improvements to this route on October 1, including a new schedule with faster travel times and shorter layovers made possible by a new bus bridge in partnership with Josephine Community Transit. The Cascades Route will be adding a stop at TriMet’s Tualatin Park & Ride beginning June 1. This will be the first new stop on the Portland-Eugene route in over six years! Our stop will be located here on the Lower Boones Ferry Road side (west side) of the park and ride.

Tickets to and from Tualatin will be available for purchase via Amtrak starting May 25. The city code for the new stop will be “TUA.”

Effective June 1 there will also be some very minor adjustments to the Cascades Route timetables in order to add in Tualatin. Passengers will see these reflected when purchasing their ticket. Our website will be updated with the new times soon.

SERVICE NOTICE: Effective May 15, 2020, per Oregon Health Authority guidance, all POINT passengers must wear a cloth, paper, or disposable face covering that covers the nose and the mouth. A passenger that does not have a face covering will be provided one at no cost. All passengers must wear a face covering unless the individual:

  1. Is under two years of age; or
  2. Has a medical condition that makes it hard to breathe when wearing a face covering; or
  3. Has a disability that prevents the individual from wearing a face covering.

  • New schedules will be shown when you search for tickets on Amtrak.com.
  • Ticket prices, stop locations & other service aspects will remain the same.
  • POINT buses are cleaned daily and our big buses allow for social distancing while on board.
