Trip connections

This route has many connections to and from other services at major transit centers like Union Station in Portland, Sunset Transit Center in Beaverton, and the Astoria Transit Center. We even share some of our stops with TriMet and Sunset Empire Transportation District (SETD) to make transfers as easy as possible.

There is a restroom on board in the rear of the bus! Please note that this route does not stop for restroom breaks or make any other unscheduled stops.

The NorthWest route has 110V AC power outlets and USB charging ports at each seat that are free for passengers to use for charging phones, tablets, laptops, etc.

Because of our connections with Amtrak train service, this route follows Amtrak’s generous carry-on baggage policy. Passengers can bring two carry-on bags and check two bags. All bags must be under 50 pounds and under 75 total inches (length + width + height of the bag). Passengers must be capable of carrying their own belongings. Call us at 1-888-846-4183 if you need special assistance.

Bikes

Passengers may bring one bike free of charge as space allows. Space availability will be at our drivers’ discretion. If you’d like to reserve a space for your bike ahead of time, please purchase a $5 bicycle ticket from Amtrak when you buy your ticket. Bikes will be stored in the luggage compartment under the bus. A bike box is not necessary but you are welcome to bring bungee cords or other securement aids to assist the driver in securing your bike. We can usually accept a total of 4 bikes per trip.

Babies are welcome aboard all POINT routes! Our seats are equipped with three-point lap and shoulder seat belts and are capable of securing an infant and children's car seat. Please check the manufacturer's instructions regarding how to secure your child's car seat with seat belts. If you’d like to keep your little one on your lap we will happily store your car seat in the cargo area for free or allow it as a carry-on as space allows.

Cascades (Portland-Eugene)

Trip connections

Our main connections on the Cascades route are to and from the Amtrak Cascades train service at Union Station in Portland. The top priority of the route is getting passengers to and from this service. We also make connections to local and intercity bus service at each of our six stops.

The Cascades POINT provides free Wi-Fi on all buses.

The Cascades route has 24 110v A/C power outlets on each bus that are free for passengers to use. Outlets are available in every other row and are located in two different places depending on the bus. Look for the plugs near the floor below the window or next to the footrests on the seatback.

Unfortunately, we can't promise there will be a way to secure an infant car seat on our Cascades route since our buses don’t have car seat anchors and only some buses have seat belts. If you’d like to keep your baby on your lap we will happily store your car seat in the cargo area for free or allow it as a carry-on as space allows.

Eastern (Bend-Ontario)

Trip Connections

Our main connections on the Eastern route are with the westbound Greyhound bus in Ontario (Schedule 1343, Denver-Portland) and local Cascades East Transit service in Bend. Learn more about connections and tickets here.

Restrooms

There is a restroom on board in the rear of the bus! In addition, we make a pit stop in Burns where restrooms are available to passengers. Please note that this route does not make any other stops for restroom breaks.

Parking

In Bend, passengers are permitted to park in the lot at Hawthorne Station for free. If you need to park for more than one night please contact Cascades East Transit at 541-385-8680. In Ontario, passengers are permitted to park on the street in front of our bus stop for up to 72 hours, per city parking codes.

All POINT routes have free Wi-Fi. Please understand that due to the remoteness of the Eastern route, our Wi-Fi service may be intermittent in some spots. Passengers should expect limited to no Wi-Fi or cell phone service for about 45 miles from around Juntura to the midpoint between Harper and Vale.

Passengers may bring one bike free of charge as space allows. Space availability will be at our drivers’ discretion. If you’d like to reserve a space for your bike ahead of time, please purchase a $5 bicycle ticket from Amtrak when you buy your ticket. Bikes will be stored in the luggage compartment under the bus. A bike box is not necessary. If you’re in a group with more than two bikes, please call us at 1-888-846-4183 and we will try to accommodate more. You may also bring skis and ski equipment of a reasonable size an quantity.

The SouthWest's main connections are with Amtrak Coast Starlight train service in Klamath Falls and the free Medford-Cave Junction bus bridge provided by Josephine Community Transit (JCT). POINT passengers can also access additional services at the following stops:

Effective October 1, 2020:

Items found on POINT vehicles will be held by drivers or stored at the Klamath Falls Amtrak Station. To recover an item please call Pacific Crest Bus Lines at 541-382-4193.

Items found on Josephine Community Transit vehicles will be donated to charity if not claimed within 30 days. To recover an item please call JCT at 541-474-5452.

Restrooms

Our buses do not have restrooms but they are available at some of our stops. Restrooms are available to passengers at the Amtrak Station in Klamath Falls, Front Street Station in Medford, and the Josephine County Courthouse (first and second floor) in Grants Pass. Given the length of the route, passengers are encouraged to plan ahead and use the restroom prior to boarding.

Connections to local transit

POINT coordinates with local and intercity transit services as much as possible by sharing bus stops and timing our schedules to allow easy transfers between services. The best way to find connections to and from the POINT is to map your trip with Google Maps and select the “Transit” icon. Use Filter by route on this page to read more about the connections made by each route.

Travel with service animals and pets

Only service animals as defined by the ADA are allowed on the buses. In addition to service animals, SouthWest riders may also bring a pet as long as it can fit into a carrier and be stowed under the seat.

Travel with a wheelchair or mobility device

All POINT buses are fully ADA accessible and lift-equipped to accommodate all occupied wheelchairs or mobility devices weighing up to 600 pounds. Some buses can accommodate heavier devices. For more information please contact the operator of the route you’re interested in.
