The POINT is a contract-operated bus service managed by the Oregon Department of Transportation. The POINT is not operated by Amtrak or Greyhound but we work with both companies to sell our tickets to provide passengers with options to connect to the national network of trains and buses. Please note the following:

  • Each route uses a reservation system.
  • Tickets must be purchased in advance. You cannot buy tickets on this site and drivers do not sell tickets.
  • Passengers have several options for purchasing tickets. We recommend purchasing from the Amtrak and Greyhound websites and mobile apps when possible.

Cascades (Portland-Eugene)

How to purchase tickets on the

You can generally buy a ticket on the Cascades Route up until about 30 minutes before the bus leaves, but we recommend buying further in advance of your trip. Adult fares range from $5 to $28.

Multi-Ride Passes: 10-ride passes are available for the Cascades Route. Passes are good for a 90-day period and allow passengers to ride to and from the selected stops at a discounted rate compared to the normal cost of Cascades Route tickets. Additionally, for the Cascades Route only, monthly passes can be purchased and are valid for up to two trips a day (once in each direction) between the selected stations for an entire calendar month. Book a multi-ride pass.

Amtrak is the exclusive ticket seller for this route. Visit Amtrak’s website to purchase your ticket. View detailed instructions for purchasing tickets from the Amtrak website. You can also purchase tickets on the Amtrak mobile app.

The JCT bus bridge is temporarily suspended due to travel delays associated with ongoing wildfire maintenance on U.S. 199. No transfer to JCT is necessary at this time.

  • Two tickets are needed to travel through both segments of the entire SouthWest Route: One ticket for Brookings-Cave Junction, one ticket for Grants Pass-Klamath Falls.
  • From Grants Pass, POINT passengers may ride JCT for free all the way to Cave Junction. From Cave Junction, POINT passengers may ride JCT for free all the way to our Grants Pass.
  • POINT passengers do not need to purchase a JCT ticket or make a reservation to use this connecting service.
  • Valid POINT ticket must be presented upon boarding JCT Route 50 (Cave Junction-Grants Pass).
  • No JCT ticket purchase or reservation necessary. POINT drivers will provide free transfer slips upon request for passengers to give to JCT drivers.
  • POINT operates between Grants Pass and Cave Junction on certain holidays when JCT is not running.
  • POINT and JCT drivers are available to answer questions about transferring between services.
  • Download or print JCT’s full schedule with all stops.

Notice for buying Amtrak, Greyhound, FlixBus or Megabus tickets for travel between Grants Pass and Cave Junction: Ticketing on these websites is limited and does not include every stop between Grants Pass and Cave Junction. To purchase a POINT ticket from these websites for travel through the Grants Pass-Cave Junction area, passengers need to only buy a ticket ending at our Grants Pass stop (for westbound travel) or ending at our Cave Junction stop (for eastbound travel). From there, POINT passengers can then ride to or from any of JCT’s regular stops between Grants Pass and Cave Junction for free.
