The POINT is managed by the Oregon Department of Transportation and operated by local bus companies. The POINT is not operated by Amtrak, FlixBus, or Greyhound but we work with these and other companies to sell our tickets so passengers can easily connect to the national network of trains and buses. Please note the following:

  • Each route uses a reservation system so we can guarantee our riders a seat on the bus. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
  • You cannot buy tickets on this site and drivers do not sell tickets.
  • Passengers have several options for purchasing tickets. No matter where you buy your ticket, you will still be riding the same service. We recommend purchasing from the Amtrak, FlixBus, and Greyhound websites or mobile apps when possible.
  • For safety reasons, the POINT only uses the designated stops listed on our schedules. We do not make unscheduled or “flag” stops.

NorthWest (Portland-Astoria)

How to purchase tickets on the

northwest

 Route

Tickets can be purchased online, using mobile apps, over the phone, or in-person. You can generally buy a ticket up until about 30 minutes before the bus leaves but we recommend buying further in advance of your trip. Adult fares range from $3.50 to $18. Several discounts are available from Amtrak.

10-ride passes are available from Amtrak. These passes are good for 90 days and allow you to ride to and from any of our stops for 30% off the normal cost. Book a multi-ride pass.

The route is operated by Northwest Navigator Luxury Coaches and connects with trains and other buses at Union Station. Northwest Navigator does not sell tickets.

Online

Visit Amtrak’s website to buy your ticket. Amtrak's system calls our service a "Connecting Bus" or "Thruway" bus. Amtrak gives each of our buses one of these 4-digit numbers depending on the schedule and direction of travel: 5500 and 5564, or 5563 and 5565. View detailed instructions for buying tickets on the Amtrak website.
