The POINT is managed by the Oregon Department of Transportation and operated by local bus companies. The POINT is not operated by Amtrak, FlixBus, or Greyhound but we work with these and other companies to sell our tickets so passengers can easily connect to the national network of trains and buses. Please note the following:

  • Each route uses a reservation system so we can guarantee our riders a seat on the bus. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
  • You cannot buy tickets on this site and drivers do not sell tickets.
  • Passengers have several options for purchasing tickets. No matter where you buy your ticket, you will still be riding the same service. We recommend purchasing from the Amtrak, FlixBus, and Greyhound websites or mobile apps when possible.
  • For safety reasons, the POINT only uses the designated stops listed on our schedules. We do not make unscheduled or “flag” stops.

Cascades (Portland-Eugene)

How to purchase tickets on the

cascades

 Route

You can generally buy a ticket on the Cascades Route up until about 30 minutes before the bus leaves, but we recommend buying further in advance of your trip. Adult fares range from $5 to $28. Several discounts are available from Amtrak.

Amtrak Multi-Ride Passes: 10-ride passes are available for the Cascades Route. Passes are good for a 90-day period and allow passengers to ride to and from the selected stops at a discounted rate compared to the normal cost of Cascades Route tickets. Additionally, for the Cascades Route only, monthly passes can be purchased and are valid for up to two trips a day (once in each direction) between the selected stations for an entire calendar month. Book a multi-ride pass.

Amtrak is the exclusive ticket seller for this route. In Amtrak's system our service is described as a "Connecting Bus" or "Thruway" bus.
